To give you an idea of the cost, a Nissan Propane Forklift dating from the latter part of the 1990s will run you approximately $11,000 to $14,000. More than likely, you will be able to find a unit such as this with fewer than 5,000 operating hours, approximately 15 feet of lifting capacity and cushion tires. However, a used Nissan forklift truck which has less than 5,000 hours can be found for under $7,000. This option might be a little bit of an older model than several others, but remember; everything revolves around the operating hours. A model like this will most likely have a fairly good load capacity of roughly 5,000 lbs.
Newer Nissan forklifts from 2005 to the current year, could be found priced near $10,000. Typically, these units will have a standard lift capacity ranging from 4,000 to 5,000 lbs. Usually, a model similar to this will have cushion tires and run smoothly. Of course, newer models usually run smoother than older ones.
Kinds of Forklifts
Generally, forklifts are categorized in 2 specific ways: by the kind of fuel it takes and the structure of the lift truck. Based on structure, the following kinds of forklifts are amongst the most popular:
Standard Forklift: Standard lift trucks consist of the familiar warehouse forklift. These kinds of lift trucks offer a lifting capacity of 3,000 to 5,000 lbs. They have a height capacity of roughly 20 feet.
Reach Forklift: The narrow aisle forklift and reach forklift are the kind of forklifts found within distribution centers and warehouses which have limited storage space. Narrow construction means that it is not able to carry as much as a typical forklift unit, however, it has an extendable mast that can easily carry loads approximately 40 feet.
Telescopic Forklift: The telescopic forklift is also referred to as a telehandler, or a telescopic handler or sometimes even an extendable reach forklift. These machines are more rugged and more heavy duty compared to the traditional forklift. These models provide a telescopic boom that could be extended out and raised up. Usually, these models are utilized on rough terrain. They could can handle loads up to 70 feet high
Straight Mast Forklift: Straight mast lift trucks are also usually utilized in rough terrain applications. These types of lift trucks are only capable of transporting loads vertically, not like a telescopic model. These units can raise loads up to 12,000 lbs, while reaching a height of 10 to 30 feet.
