Aisle Types
Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These machinery can turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are several aisle widths to consider with different units.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet areas, whereas some will use certain guidance systems like optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks comprise Swing Masts, Order Selectors and Turret Trucks. These are popular kinds in compact retail areas and in some warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can operate in aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Usually these are stand-up models like Reach Trucks. They are often used in warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work within aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up models offer padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are made to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is very big and has an 8" low step height that helps reduce overall body exhaustion by easing frequent exit and entry. The model consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat together with a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and thus more effective while limiting fatigue.
