Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run using LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various applications. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must truly be careful in order to avoid possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment such as heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Turn off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
